Blackheath Westcombe Councillor Alex Wilson and Spencer inspect the piles of glass.

Glass used as grit is still laying on the streets

Many people will have noted the articles in the papers (including one of the national ones) about Greenwich Council using glass as grit suring the recent snowfall.  One of the problems which I had with it was that it was unlikely to be cleaned away when the snow melted and this weekend on Dinsdale Road in Blackheath Westcombe ward I found plenty of evidence of this.  There were patches of glass across the pavement and parts of the road which have yet to be cleaned up.  I have reported it to the Council's street sweeping department today and we shall see if it is cleaned up.
